The hunter, whose name is Erik Råsbjer, was cutting up a deer when he received a call that his son needed a ride to hockey practice.
He put the knife in his belt and drove away, but the trip to the Stinsen arena was interrupted of a police check.
Now Råsbjer has been sentenced to a total of SEK 21,000 in daily fines for violating the knife law. He must also pay 800 kroner to the Crime Victims' Fund.
– I understand that the law is intended to be used to clamp down on those who might think of using a knife in a criminal context, for example people who are known to the police from before or acting threateningly. But I don't think it is meant to fine any citizen, but that the law should be used with a bit of common sense, says Erik Råsbjer to Svensk Jakt.
He has appealed the verdict to the Court of Appeal.
