Google Photos: Pixel 7 features are coming to Pixel users and One subscribers

On the Pixel 7 smartphones, Google has already offered special, AI-supported image editing functions such as Magic Eraser in Google Photos. Now these are also coming for Google Photos users apart from the Pixel 7 smartphones if you have a Pixel or Google One subscription – then for both Android and iOS.

Google had already released the first Pixel-exclusive functions to One subscribers in February. Google One starts with 100 GB storage at 1.99 euros per month or 19.99 euros per year.

Magic eraser: Remove unwanted image elements

The Magic Eraser is used to select and remove unwanted image elements. This can be other people in the background or objects like trash cans or power lines that don't fit into the picture. The Magic Eraser can recognize these objects itself, or the user can circle them or mark them with the brush. Additionally, the Hide feature in Magic Eraser can be used to change the color of objects in the photo to blend in with the rest of the photo.

HDR effect for videos

With the HDR effect for videos, however, dark foregrounds can be – and balance light backgrounds (or vice versa) to subsequently improve the overall picture of the video.

New collage designs

Google is also introducing new collage designs for Google Photos to provide more ways to create collages in the collage editor. While these new themes are exclusive to Google One subscribers and Pixel phone users, all Google Photos users can now access themes for a single photo in the collage editor.

Free shipping on photo print orders

Google One subscribers will also receive free shipping from today on orders in the Google Photos print shop in the United States, Canada, the EU and the United Kingdom when they meet the minimum order value, which is currently 12 euros in Germany. In addition to photo prints in various sizes, you can also order photo books or canvas prints.
