Several investigations are underway into how it happened when police chief Mats Löfving's lover Linda Staaf was hired as head of intelligence at Noa.

According to Expressen, a police report of gross misconduct in a separate case was received at the turn of the year. The person accused of nepotism this time is Ulf Johansson, former regional police chief in Stockholm but today regional police chief for Uppsala, Västmanland and Gävleborgs län.

Johansson's girlfriend got a position in the police with 100 applicants in 2019/2020, while he was regional police chief in Stockholm. The girlfriend had no previous experience with the Police Authority, according to Expressen. The then deputy regional police chief in Stockholm Robert Karlsson and the head of the regional office in Stockholm Jennie von Alten are singled out in the report for having helped Johansson give the service to the mistress.

– It did not rise to the level of bad relations that would constitute misconduct. That is my opinion, says prosecutor Martin Tidén to Expressen.

The case has been sent to the police personnel responsibility board for an employment law investigation into possible misconduct.
