Pilots who have observed the objects describe it as “inexplicable” how they were able to stay in the sky and have raised the alarm that it interfered with the aircraft's sensors.

On Saturday afternoon local time, American fighter jets fired down an object over Canada's Northwest Yukon Territory, which had been tracked by the US-Canada joint air and space defense organization Norad for a day.

The cylindrical object was the size of a passenger car and posed a possible threat to civil aviation , according to Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand.

– I will not speculate on where the object came from tonight. It is far too early in our analysis, we are still collecting the wreckage, she said according to Global News on Saturday evening.

What the object is and where it comes from is therefore still unknown.

It latest unidentified object shot down over Alaska on Friday after being spotted the day before.

Several, but not all, pilots have reported that it interfered with their plane's sensors and described it as “inexplicable” that it stayed on 12,000 meters high.

Friday's object landed on ice and was taken care of by American authorities.

Several investigations are now underway to get answers to the mysterious objects and their origin.
