Foreign. After the legendary investigative journalist Seymour Hersh's information that the US was behind the Nord Stream explosions, Russia is now demanding an independent international investigation into the incident. There is concern that the ongoing investigations will obscure who the perpetrators were, state-run Russian RT reports.

According to Seymour Hersh's spectacular review, it was the United States that blew up the Nord Stream pipelines in cooperation with Norway.
According to Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov, this demonstrates “the need for an open international investigation” regarding the incident.
– It is impossible to proceed with this without finding the perpetrators and punishing them, he says according to RT.
Russia has previously accused the “Anglo-Saxons” (USA and Great Britain) of being behind the explosions. According to Peskov, there is “some overlap” between the information Russia claims to be sitting on and the report from Seymour Hersh.
Peskov says that while Hersh's journalistic review cannot be considered source material, it is “a very important piece of the puzzle” which should affect international investigations of the incident.
– But we see, on the contrary, attempts to quietly try to end such international investigations, he says according to RT.
