Nintendo Direct: Updates on Zelda, Pikmin 4, Metroid Prime and more

In the first Nintendo Direct of the year, Nintendo announced news about games such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Pikmin 4, Metroid Prime Remastered and Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe given.

New trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

There was a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which, however, shows little new gameplay, but is primarily intended to draw attention to the pre-order options for the game. The title is scheduled for release on May 12 and costs 69.99 euros. Nintendo is offering the predecessor Breath of the Wild until February 19 at a reduced price of 48.99 euros.

Metroid Prime Remastered from February 22

Also announced is Metroid Prime Remastered, an HD remaster of the first Metroid Prime originally released on the Nintendo GameCube, available now on Nintendo eShop. The remaster will be available in stores on February 22nd. There is also a trailer for this.

Games from Game Boy and Game Boy Advance

Nintendo has also added Game Boy games to the Switch game library on the Nintendo Switch Online Service. Nine classics are available to start with, including Tetris and Super Mario Land 2 – 6 Golden Coins, The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening DX, Gargoyel's Quest, Metroid II – Return of Samus, Wario Land 3 and Kirby's. s Dream Land. The offer will be expanded in the future.

The Nintendo Switch Online Service with Expansion Pack has also received six Game Boy Advance games, namely Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, WarioWare, Inc: Mega Microgame$, Kuru Kuru Kururin, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.

First trailer for Pikmin 4

As expected, the first gameplay trailer for Pikmin 4 has been released. The game will be released for the Nintendo Switch on July 21st.

The Nintendo Direct provides a lot more information about upcoming games, such as Disney Illusion Island and Octopath Traveler II, for which a demo has now been released, which can be viewed in the approximately 40-minute stream.
