“In recent times, public gatherings to burn the Koran have provoked very strong reactions, resulting in a changed threat picture against Sweden,” the police write on their website.

The police authority has today, after dialogue with the Security Police, therefore decided to reject an application for permission to burn a Koran.

Such a gathering “is judged to be capable of causing serious disturbances to national security”, according to the police.< /p>

The police authority's decision regarding permit matters can be appealed to the administrative court.

The decision comes after the former Prime Minister Carl Bildt went out on SVT and criticized the police for allowing Rasmus Paludan's earlier Koran burning at the embassy.< /p>
