– Among other things, we will take a closer look at which checks are made by the organizations that apply for money, and what the money is then used for, says Auditor General Helena Lindberg in a statement.

The general inheritance fund was established in 1928 in connection with the Riksdag deciding to abolish the right of inheritance for cousins. Inheritance from people without family heirs or a valid will would no longer go to the state but go to public purposes.

Non-profit organizations that run activities for children, young people, people with disabilities and people over 65 years of age can receive support from fund.

In recent years, however, much of the money has gone to things like Islamism, Somali clans, left-wing extremism (like Expo) and cultural Marxism (like storytimes for children with transvestites).

I at the end of 2021, the market value of the Allmänna arvsfonden's net capital amounted to approximately SEK 13 billion. In the same year, the fund distributed over SEK 800 million in project support and over SEK 200 million in local support.

For many years, the fund's income has been growing faster than project grants are distributed. According to the National Audit Office, this means that competition for the fund's money is low and that there is a risk that the quality of granted projects will decrease.
