Domestic. After Thomas Bodström (S) was forced to give up hope for the post in connection with the scandal surrounding Allra, where he sat on the board, former M leader Anna Kinberg Batra is now appointed as governor of Stockholm.

Kinberg Batra became known to a wider public when she stated in a television interview in 1998 that Stockholmers are smarter than people from Lantis.
When Fredrik Reinfeldt resigned as party leader of the Moderates in 2015, he appointed Kinberg Batra to his successor. However, she was forced out shortly afterwards and replaced with Ulf Kristersson.
Now Kristersson appoints her as governor in Stockholm.
The appointment as governor and head of the County Board in Stockholm County is effective from March 1, 2023 through February 28, 2029.
– Anna Kinberg Batra is a person with experience from the state as well as the region and municipality. Anna's experiences from politics and business will be an asset for the residents of Stockholm County. I am happy that Anna Kinberg Batra has accepted the assignment, says Minister of Civil Affairs Erik Slottner in a comment.
