Only asylum seekers smoke when PUT is withdrawn

The proposal in the Tidö Agreement that permanent residence permits that have already been granted should be withdrawn has raised concerns and questions about legal certainty.

Authority decisions that benefit an individual cannot normally be withdrawn, but the government is set on the majority of immigrants with permanent residence permits being forced to apply for citizenship instead. On Saturday, however, the government had not yet explained the meaning of that.

Malmer Stenergard says that only asylum-related residence permits are relevant in the proposal, and labor immigrants and students can continue to be allowed to keep their permanent place in Sweden.

The minister says that people who live in an honorable way and try to learn Swedish, become self-sufficient and do everything they can to integrate into society, should not feel worried.

< p>She wants immigrants to feel safe and welcome in Sweden and urges anyone who has questions or concerns to seek advice and help.

Finally, Migration Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard emphasizes that it is important to ensure legal certainty for everyone immigrants, and that the government will continue to work to promote so-called integration.
