The new Samsung notebooks combine numerous features regardless of the selected form factor: OLED displays in 16:10 format with touch support, huge touchpads, aluminum housing, full-fledged connections and new 13th Gen Core processors (“Raptor Lake “) from Intel. In terms of the form factor, there is the classic design with a normal hinge or the 360-degree variant, which can be folded down completely, used as a tablet and operated with a stylus. The ultra version with more powerful H processors and Nvidia Ada Lovelace in the mobile version is completely new.
Galaxy Book3 Pro comes in 14 and 16 inches
Samsung offers the new Galaxy Book3 Pro in 14" and 16″ with the new diagonals resulting from a change in the aspect ratio from the previous 16:9 to the current 16:10. The OLED screens each achieve a very high resolution of 2,880 × 1,800 pixels, offer a variable refresh rate from 48 Hz to 120 Hz, are said to cover 120 percent of the DCI-P3 color space and achieve a brightness of 400 cd/m², with a certification the VESA for DisplayHDR 500 True Black.
16 inch for the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 and Galaxy Book3 Ultra
Exclusively in 16" come the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360, which has a 360-degree hinge and can therefore be used as a 2-in-1 device like a tablet with a stylus, and the new Galaxy Book3 Ultra, with which Samsung is after the Ultra models now also offers an absolute flagship for smartphones in the notebook segment.
Intel Raptor Lake meets Iris Xe or RTX 4000
The performance is provided exclusively by Intel with the new Raptor Lake processors from the P and H series, with the more powerful H models being reserved for the Galaxy Book3 Ultra. The performance range extends from the small Core i5 to the top Core i9 models. The notebooks all come with an integrated Iris Xe graphics unit from Intel, with the exception of the Galaxy Book3 Ultra, which also comes with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 laptop GPU and can optionally be configured with a GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU. All notebooks carry Intel's Evo seal of approval, and the Galaxy Book3 Ultra also has Nvidia's Studio sticker for targeting creative professionals.
5G for the Galaxy Book3 Pro 360
Despite the slim design, Samsung still provides a relatively large number of connections, which also include USB-A (without specifying the transmission standard). In detail, all new products offer two Thunderbolt 4, one USB-A, one microSD card reader and one HDMI. The Galaxy Book3 Ultra uses HDMI 2.0, the other variants without a dedicated graphics card still use HDMI 1.4. The Galaxy Book3 Pro 360 also comes with a Nano SIM slot when the optional 5G module is selected.
Windows 11 with additional Samsung features
On the software side, the notebooks are characterized by the use of Windows 11 and Samsung's optically adapted settings in the One UI design, as was the case with last year's devices in the Galaxy Book series. In addition, there is a central single sign-on to be able to log in to all Samsung services with one account. If several Samsung devices are linked, a Galaxy tablet and, more recently, a Galaxy smartphone can also be controlled via the input devices of the notebook using the keyboard and mouse. In addition, a Galaxy tablet can be linked again as a second wireless display.
