Samsung: Galaxy S23 series should be at least 100 euros more expensive

Samsung has scheduled the presentation of the Galaxy S23 series for February 1 under the motto “Share the Epic”. In all likelihood, the prices will also be epic, as WinFuture reports. With prices starting at 949 euros, the Galaxy S23 is said to cost exactly 100 euros more than the S22. S23+ and S23 Ultra are becoming even more expensive.

Increasing prices for hardware are not unique to Samsung, other companies from various areas of consumer electronics have also recently made adjustments to their new products made above.

Galaxy S23 is expected from 949 euros

While Samsung presented the Galaxy S22 last year for 849 euros in the version with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB, a price of 949 euros is expected for this year, as WinFuture reports with reference to the official prices for Germany. However, Samsung itself has not yet announced the prices, so this can only be expected as part of the Unpacked event on February 1st from 7:00 p.m.

  • Galaxy S23+ 8 GB/512 GB: 1,319 euros
  • Galaxy S23 Ultra 8 GB/256 GB: 1,399 euros

Double storage for pre-orders

In the variant with 256 GB of storage, the Galaxy S23 is priced at 1,009 euros instead of the previous 899 euros for the Galaxy S22. A ray of hope in this regard, however, is a campaign recently speculated for the UK to start sales, which should also make it to Germany. Accordingly, pre-orderers should receive twice the storage for all three variants at the start at the price of the smaller variant. The 128 GB of the Galaxy S23 would therefore automatically become 256 GB, while the Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra would have 512 GB instead of 256 GB “>128 GB versions are partly canceled

For the two larger models in the Galaxy S23 family, on the other hand, premiums of at least 150 euros are expected compared to the Galaxy S22 series. The Galaxy S23+ should start at 1,199 euros instead of 1,049 euros (S22+) and climb from 1,099 euros to 1,319 euros in the larger memory configuration – an additional charge of 220 euros. It should be noted, however, that from now on it will be a basic model with 256 GB instead of 128 GB. And instead of 256 GB, the larger configuration will offer 512 GB in the future.

Galaxy S23 Ultra costs at least 1,399 euros

The flagship Galaxy S23 Ultra, which is expected again with the “S Pen” stylus, will also no longer have a basic model with 128 GB of memory. With the new entry from 1,399 euros instead of the previous 1,249 euros, this point must also be considered. The 256 GB model was still 1,349 euros last year, so only 50 euros less, but came on the market with 12 GB RAM instead of the current 8 GB RAM in the Galaxy S23 Ultra. WinFuture quotes a price of 1,579 euros for the new 512 GB model, after the Galaxy S22 Ultra with the same features was still 1,449 euros. There will probably also be a 1 TB version directly from Samsung, but the price for this is not yet available. This version cost 1,649 euros last year.

In addition to doubling the memory for pre-orders of the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra, individual retailers such as MediaMarkt and Saturn are also planning a goods voucher of 100 euros when purchasing one of the smartphones. However, information on possible bonuses such as free smartwatches or in-ear headphones directly from Samsung has not yet been secured.
