According to an analysis firm, 1.21 billion mobile phones were shipped from manufacturers in 2022, which represents a drop of 11.3 percent compared to the previous year.

This is the lowest figure since 2013 .

The reasons are several, but mainly it is about inflation and financial uncertainty that make consumers hold tight to their wallets.

Aside from that, stagnation in mobile development is another reason why customers do not have as much need to buy a new phone.

Despite this, mobile manufacturers are expected to continue their launch plans for new devices during the year.

Increased restrictions from retailers and operators can be expected to affect the figures for 2023.

Samsung will launch the S23 series at the beginning of February and the following week OnePlus will show its latest flagship.

Also launches from Apple, Nokia, Lenovo and others will come during the year, writes Sweclockers.
