Domestic. Total försvaret in Sweden sees an increase in the number of people deployed for war during the second half of the year 2022. According to recent figures from the Swedish National Service, 66,328 people were deployed for war between 1 June and 31 December 2022, which corresponds to an increase of almost 20 percent in just six months.

This trend may be due to the fact that not only the public sector, but also private companies that work with socially important activities choose to deploy staff after the recent war.
It is therefore a question of a large number of more or less common jobs that are covered by war placement.
A war placement usually means that the person continues to work with their current duties in the event of war or if the government decides on increased readiness or activates the general service obligation.
An activation of the service obligation means that you are not allowed to change jobs, resign or leave the country.
Unit head for crisis preparedness and civil defense at MSB, Fredrik Stany, tells SVT that it is difficult to put an exact figure on the number of military personnel who will be needed in the future, but that it will be significantly more than it is today.
