For the enthusiastic community on ComputerBase, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti (test) represents the unloved offspring of the new GPU generations from Nvidia and AMD. At least the German retailer Mindfactory has been selling it to date Cheapest Ada Lovelace graphics card but currently better than the rest.

Unpopular on ComputerBase, blockbuster on Mindfactory

Numerous surveys on the market launch of the new graphics cards based on Nvidia Ada Lovelace and AMD RDNA 3 and also the comments of the readers show: In the community on ComputerBase are GeForce RTX 4090 (test), GeForce RTX 4080 (test) and Radeon RX 7900 XTX ( Test) both more attractive and more common than the two “cheaper” next-gen graphics cards. In a recent survey, for example, 8.6 percent of the participants stated that they owned an RTX 4090 or were planning to buy one, whereas only around 2 percent each owned a GeForce RTX 4070 Ti or Radeon RX 7900 XT or were interested in buying them .

Surveys on the next-gen graphics cards

  • Availability of the RTX 4080: the RRP is now consistently undercut
  • Surveys about the launch: How (un)popular is the RTX 4070 Ti in the community?
  • Availability of the RX 7900 XT(X): The Radeon RX 7900 XTX became more expensive, the XT cheaper< /li>
  • Nvidia vs. AMD: How do you feel about the launch of GeForce RTX 4000 and Radeon RX 7000?

It is obvious that such a distribution in the enthusiastic community on ComputerBase cannot be transferred to the entire target group of gaming graphics cards. And at least the sales figures at the German retailer Mindfactory underline this, as Twitter user @TechEpiphany shows, who evaluated the data freely accessible via API in steps of 5. According to this, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti of all things is the best-selling graphics card in the third calendar week of 2023 with 545 orders. The GeForce RTX 3060 (test) took second place and the Radeon RX 6700 XT (test) took third place.

The numbers also show: Mindfactory was able to sell more GeForce RTX 4070 Ti graphics cards than Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT (test, custom design test) combined: The two AMD graphics cards sold 300 and 200 respectively. The GeForce RTX 4090, on the other hand, has 210 reported sales and the GeForce RTX 4080 190. However, since the two graphics cards came onto the market in autumn 2022, it can be assumed that their sales figures are already declining.

Overall, Nvidia models meanwhile came to 2,255 sales, whereas the share of AMD graphics accelerators in the third calendar week on Mindfactory is around 42 percent with 1,665 sales. Intel, on the other hand, is more or less irrelevant in this regard with only 20 graphics cards sold.

The average sales price of the graphics cards ordered can also be read out via API (arithmetic mean). Nvidia comes to 807 euros, AMD to 656 euros and Intel to 270 euros. And at this point at the latest it becomes clear: the sales and the market shares on Mindfactory are not representative of the entire market, for example the GeForce GTX 1650 (test), which is available from around 160 euros, has recently been at the top of the Steam hardware survey.
