Stop The press revealed this spring that Micael Bydén left his wife of 23 years for Linda H Staaf, the now outgoing head of intelligence at the police's operational national division (Noa).

Linda Staaf has made big headlines lately because of the information about her years as the mistress of her boss at the police, Mats Löfving, who also hired her and raised her salary.

In P4 Extra, Micael Bydén is asked about the relationship, something he is noticeably uncomfortable with. He talks about how he supported Linda during the media drive.

– When a person is close to you and ends up in a vulnerable position and it becomes medial and big, it is clear that it affects. What I can do is be a party and support her, be there and understand what that means, says Bydén.

When the presenter Titti Schultz asks if Linda was the wrong “horse to bet on” and if his ” mark rocked” by the printers, ÖB replies: “Absolutely not.”

He is also asked questions about how the relationship has worked in view of the couple's sensitive work.

– This person and works in two different authorities. We have our respective jobs. We handle classified information. I work in my world and she in hers. It's not like we mix the private and the work we do. For me, it is a changed family situation that I reported. And the security service in the Armed Forces has looked into it and taken routine measures. I have nothing more to say than that, replies Micael Bydén.
