CB Screenshot Contest: The new year begins with a botched build

In October 2022, the screenshot competition of the ComputerBase community started again after a summer break. Competitions will be held over a period of six months, in which points can be collected up to and including March 2023. This time we are looking for recordings on the subject of “botched construction”.

The competition is going into the second round

This time, the screenshot competition on ComputerBase is off to a flying start: All community members are invited to send a specially taken screenshot on the corresponding monthly topic by email to the initiators GUN2504 and Corros1on from now until January 20, 2023 at 11:59 p.m to send in. In any case, your own user name in the ComputerBase forum and, optionally, a comment on the screenshot should be sent along.

Shoddy construction: This refers to your own and bizarre creations of the home base, shelters and headquarters.

It is also important that the long side of the screenshot must not exceed 2,560 pixels; however, the aspect ratio can be chosen freely. As usual, the following also applies: recordings already published in the forum are excluded from the competition, as are screenshots from games indexed in Germany. Screenshot programs such as Nvidia Ansel are allowed, but you should avoid time-consuming post-processing of the recordings.

The following six monthly topics have been nominated for the competition:

  • October: “Nature spectacle”
  • November: “In the middle of the night”
  • December: “Off the beaten track”
  • January : “Bobble in construction”
  • February: “That's not a knife”
  • March: “Funny snapshots”

Three votes left until the winner is announced

From January 21, 2023 – or already previously, if the limit of 40 submissions set by the forum software is reached – a week-long poll will be started to rank the community's favourites. The first five places then receive points. If there is a tie, a draw will be made. At the end of March, the overall winner will be crowned. The ComputerBase team and the initiators of the competition will reward the winner with a little token to be announced in good time.

After the third month, eXtra is now leading the ranking list, the prevailed with the cover photo of this message taken in the outstanding open-world adventure Horizon Zero Dawn (test) on the topic “off the beaten path” and thus relegated Gesualdo to second place.
