The network existed in the Riksdag before, but is now to be resurrected after over ten years.
– We are seeing a backlash internationally against the rights of LGBTQI people and I hope we will not see some of it in Sweden. I hope we will be able to continue advancing the positions.
This is what the Green Party's newly elected Member of Parliament Ulrika Westerlund, who is starting the network, tells SR.
HBTQI, according to the state radio, stands for “homosexuals, bisexuals, transgender people, people with queer expressions and intersex people”.
Anna Starbrink (L) says that there is an agreement with SD which “contains some decisions that need to be made”.
Mikael Eskilandersson, who is vice-chairman of the civil committee, represents SD in the LGBTQI network.
– There is always potential for improvement in all areas of the law. Then maybe I'm the one who is the most difficult to convince in the group that has gathered so far, he tells SR.
