Foreign. A New York man has filed a lawsuit against Apple because he claims the pulse oximeter in the Apple Watch is racist against non-whites, Fox Business reports.

The man, Alex Morales, bought an Apple Watch between 2020 and 2021 and stated that he was then informed that the watch claimed to measure the level of oxygen in the blood without taking skin color into account.
< p>According to the lawsuit, during the corona pandemic, researchers were able to use patient records to prove that pulse oximeters are racist.
It is further claimed that for decades there have been reports of race-based discrepancies in the measurement of blood oxygen levels by these medical instruments.
Apple writes on its website that its blood oxygen app “is not intended for medical use” and that it should not be used for self-diagnosis.
