Foreign. The German Christian Democrats (CDU) are drifting further and further to the left, and the distance is now starting to get really close to KD in Sweden. This week, the CDU's youth union JU demanded that immigration to Germany should increase sharply, writes Spiegel.

The announcement comes despite the fact that the country has already received over 1.2 million immigrants this year.
JU chairman Johannes Winkel also calls on Germans to “thank” immigrants more often.
Winkel argues that Germany “needs permanent immigration to deal with the demographic challenge”.
Winkel also criticizes the immigration legislation advocated by the red-green government, saying that “we must also dare to say that the goal of immigration is the labor market”.
A new poll shows that the majority of Germans oppose mass immigration, which could lead to an increase in opinion figures for the Alternative for Germany (AFD).
Other countries, such as Japan and Hungary, are trying to improve their labor force situation and reverse the demographic trend through a proactive family policy.
– Throughout Europe, fewer and fewer children are being born, and the answer from the West is immigration, said the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in 2018.
– They want as many in nmigrants must come here as there is a lack of children for the numbers to add up. We Hungarians have a different idea. Instead of just having numbers, we want Hungarian children. For us, immigration is the same as capitulation.
According to JU, however, the issue is not only about immigration. Within the union and within the CDU, they are also considering removing the word “Christian” from the party name.
