Philips Hue has added a new scene for users. With 'Natural light' you can simulate the course of daylight, which changes during the day. It can be found in the Philips Hue app version 4.32. Gonny van der Zwaag | iCulture.nl – 20 December 2022, 14:57 whatsappfacebooktwittertelegramlinkedinmailprint
Philips Hue with natural light
You're not going to use this scene very quickly with the Philips Hue Festavia Christmas lights, but it can be a nice addition to the bathroom or living room. The manufacturer announced the function earlier and wanted to make it available last summer. It took a little longer, but now it's really usable. Natural light uses different shades from cool to warm light, allowing you to alternate between focusing and relaxing. It is more in line with your natural course of the day and its influence on your body. It also takes into account the biological rhythm of your body, or your circadian rhythm.
Is Natural light not visible when you open the Philips Hue scene gallery, even though you have updated the app to the latest version? Then it helps to close the app and start it again.
The lamps automatically adjust to the tasks you perform during the day. It starts with bright and cool color tones so that you get energy in the morning. This is followed by a period of concentration, while you take it easy later in the afternoon. In the course of the evening, the lamps switch from relaxing to resting, finally ending in the ‘Night light’ position. By default, these settings are already chosen by Philips Hue, but you can also adjust them to your needs. If you start relaxing at 6 p.m., you can do that too. And if you are someone who works best around 6 p.m., you could switch on the concentration mode at that time. Each time block must be at least 30 minutes long. One minute before the next time block starts, the lamps will gradually change their color.
Adaptive Lighting, but from Philips Hue
To use natural light, you need a Hue Bridge and the latest version of the app. In addition, you need at least one White Ambiance or a White and Color Ambiance lamp. You can also assign it to a light button. As soon as you activate the scene, the light is dynamically adjusted during the day. In fact, this is a variant of the HomeKit Adaptive Lighting function, which also adjusts the color temperature to the time of day. With Philips Hue you have a little more influence on the settings. You can determine which color setting is chosen for the entire 24 hours of the day.
