Lenovo monitors: Two 4K UHD with mini-LED and 140 watts via USB4

Lenovo is bringing out two otherwise identical professional monitors with mini-LED technology, one with around 32 inches and one with 27 inches. In addition to the brightly lit backlight with 1,152 dimming zones, the USB4 connection with a full 140 watts of power delivery is a special feature.

The two newcomers to the ThinkVision family designed for professional use are called P32pz-30 and P27pz-30 and differ only in size and price. The IPS panel with said mini-LED backlight also delivers 3,840 × 2,160 pixels; in the smaller 27-inch variant, the pixel density is correspondingly higher.

Mini LEDs with up to 1,200 cd/m²

The mini LED backlight promises potentially more contrast and, above all, a higher luminosity of up to 1,200 cd/m² in certain areas, which is underlined by a certification according to DisplayHDR 1000. However, the color depth of 10 bits is only achieved via simulation. The display is set to an average color deviation of Delta E < 1 and should cover the Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 color spaces almost completely.

With a refresh rate of only 60 Hz and no information on response time and Adaptive Sync support, it is clear that the products are not intended to appeal to gamers.

Connection variety with HDMI 2.1, USB4 and Ethernet

The connections and ergonomics are ample for work. There is a DisplayPort 1.4 as both an input and an output, HDMI 2.1 is available twice and an image signal can also be fed in via the USB4 socket. The latter delivers a lot of power for a connected notebook with up to 140 watts. At the same time, this can be supplied with peripheral devices via additional USB sockets on the monitor. The functionality as a docking station is perfected by the Gigabit Ethernet connection and the KVM switch function.

The exchangeable stand allows a generous height adjustment (up to 155 mm), as well as tilting and swiveling as well as upright operation ( pivot). There are also sensors that detect the presence of a user and the brightness of the environment and adjust operation or the brightness of the display accordingly to save power.

Prices, specifications and availability

The rich equipment of the bright workhorses has its price: in August In 2023, the ThinkVision P32pz-30 will be available with 32 inches for 1,999 euros. The 27-inch ThinkVision P27pz-30 costs 1,699 euros.
