The case concerned various posts that Lamotte posted on Facebook, where Tomas Åberg, among other things, is singled out as an animal torturer.

Joakim Lamotte has indicated that it concerns journalistic reviews of a public person.

However, the court follows the Nähttsgranskaren's line and sentences the journalist for gross defamation to daily fines of SEK 30,000 and SEK 20,000 in damages to Åberg. Joakim Lamotte must also pay the legal costs of close to a quarter of a million kroner.

A number of other people, pensioners and others, have previously been sentenced for having called Åberg an animal torturer.

– I stand for everything I wrote and I regret nothing. I stand straight through this, it's not me who should be ashamed, says Joakim Lamotte to SVT Nyheter Väst.

Joakim Lamotte announced this summer that he ended his journalistic activity, which took place in front of a large audience via Facebook, on due to threats against his family.
