Fido (“Full ISO Download Script”) is a PowerShell script to conveniently download the Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11 ISO files from the Microsoft servers. Originally developed for use in the USB tool Rufus, Fido can also be used separately. Fido 1.37 now also includes the Windows 11 2022 Update.
Fido gets ISO files onto the system using PowerShell
You can choose from the current ISO files of all releases in the Home, Pro and Education editions. It is also possible to download ISO files for Windows 7, but only in English. The default browser is opened to download the ISO files.
Fido – User InterfaceThe script is delivered compressed with LZMA, for unpacking it requires an appropriate packing program such as 7-Zip or WinRAR. The system images are then downloaded directly from the official Microsoft servers.
For the first time with Windows 11 2022 (“22H2”)
The latest version Fido 1.37 includes access to the current Windows 11 2022 update (“22H2”) for the first time, which among other things introduced tabs in the file explorer.
Use via Command line is also possible, the supported parameters can be found in the documentation.
Download on ComputerBase
As usual, Fido 1.37 (“Release Notes”) can be downloaded directly below this message from the download area of ComputerBase, while a corresponding alternative is linked to Rufus.
As free software Fido can be used free of charge under GNU GPLv3. For more information, see the project page on the GitHub developer platform.
