Mercedes is working on the restyling of several of its cars. Recently we have seen, for example, spy photos depicting the restyling of the EQA, GLA and CLA Shooting Brake models. We cannot fail to mention that at the beginning of October, the German manufacturer presented the restyling of the A-Class and the B-Class.
Apparently, the automaker is also working on the facelift of its Mercedes EQV electric van. A forklift of this new model is; in fact, it was intercepted during the classic winter tests that car manufacturers are carrying out at this time of year. This battery-operated model is the perfect choice. It was launched on the market in the first months of 2020 and is based on the Mercedes V-Class whose current generation is; in circulation since 2014. No new model for the moment, but just a restyling to give the look a fresh look. Updates that will arrive not only on the EQV electric version but also on the endothermic Class V.
DESIGN ADJUSTMENTS
Spy photos show a car with limited front and rear camouflage. These are the areas where the main changes will be made. The confirmation that this is the electric model comes from the presence of the classic stickers that inform that the car adopts an electric powertrain. The front should be reviewed with new design headlights. The bumper and grille should also have a new look.
Behind, however, should arrive small changes to the light clusters, the bumper and the tailgate. No twist though. As for the interior, in addition to the arrival of new upholstery, Mercedes should introduce the latest generation of its MBUX system, together with some changes to the design of the console. All these new features they will also arrive on the V-Class with internal combustion engine.
As regards, however, the powertrain, at the moment there is no precise information. Currently, the Mercedes EQV has a 150 kW (204 hp) engine. The manufacturer offers this model in the EQV 250 and EQV 300 versions which differ in the capacity; of the battery (60 and 90 kWh). With the largest accumulator; large, with a range of up to 363 km according to the WLTP cycle.
It is therefore to be understood whether the manufacturer intends to make changes to increase the autonomy of this electric model. The restyling, however, will serve as a means of improvement. to extend the life of this car by a few more years. As we know, in the future, the German manufacturer will introduce; a specific platform called VAN.EA which will be developed; used to make medium and large electric vans.
When it arrives; the restyling? Probably over the next year.
