Annie Ernaux is alleged by the Simon Wiesenthal Center to have links to so-called anti-Semitism.

– The message to the Jewish part of the world is “Honestly, We don't give a damn you and you may get what you deserve,” says the Jewish organization's founder, Rabbi Abraham Cooper according to Expressen.

The background is that the journalist Olle Svenning in Dagens Nyheter has written about Annie Ernaux's connection to the French-Algerian writer Houria Bouteldja, whom Svenning describes as “a well-known antisemite”.

Abraham Cooper also points out that Annie Ernaux has supported the so-called BDS movement, which organizes boycotts of Israel. That such a person can receive a Nobel Prize is “disgusting”, according to the Jewish profile.
