Domestic. 723 police officers have completed the police training. On Monday, they begin their employment in police areas around the country.

On Friday, the police held graduation ceremonies in the police regions for the police aspirants who completed the last part of the police training.
On Monday, they start their first day of work.
– We wish All new police officers warmly welcome. The police operate all over the country, around the clock, at all hours of the year. In an increasingly serious world situation, the new police officers are an important addition to our crime-fighting mission and contribute to increasing the local presence. The work to get even more police officers continues, says national police chief Anders Thornberg.
Of the new police officers, 669 have completed basic police training and 54 the functional police training.
The police must get more employees and in the long run, reach the goal of a police density equivalent to the average in the EU. The work to get more people to apply for police training therefore continues. As part of the growth work, the previously temporary business-integrated police training, which is aimed at police employees, is to be introduced permanently.
In mid-January, it is again possible to apply for the function-oriented police training, which is aimed at people with academic degree and who has experience of working with investigations in, for example, economics, IT or the behavioral science field.
