GeForce 527.37 WHQL: New Game Ready driver accelerates Need for Speed
admin
Nvidia's first graphics driver in December, the GeForce 527.37 WHQL (“Game Ready”) brings not only the obligatory bug fixes but also optimizations for Criterion Games'. new underground racing game Need for Speed Unbound including DLSS 3 (test).
The new driver also supports the tactical role-playing game Marvel's Midnight Suns, which will be released tomorrow, with ray tracing and DLSS Super Resolution or DLSS 2. It is a turn-based strategy game from the Civilization developer Firaxis, with Nvidia and Take Two collaborating as publishers.
Another driver for current GeForce graphics cards
The new driver follows the GeForce 526.98, which was released in mid-November 2022, which, among other things, supported the GeForce RTX 4080 (test) as a second graphics card with Ada Lovelace GPU for the first time, fixed a problem with high power consumption on the desktop and optimized for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (test), Warhammer 40,000 Darktide and World of Warcraft: Dragonflight brought with it. A week ago, the two graphics drivers GeForce 474.04 and 474.06 were also released, which are security updates for Nvidia Kepler aka GeForce 600 and GeForce 700 under Windows 7 to 11 – but the release is not relevant for owners of new Nvidia graphics cards, because the corresponding Security updates are included in current “Game Ready” drivers anyway.
Fixed and still open bugs
As is usual with every new game-ready release, Nvidia also lists a number of fixed and still open but already known bugs in the official release notes (PDF). Among other things, a bug has been fixed that could cause flickering image output when playing the Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition (test) on a GeForce RTX 4000 graphics card.
Fixed Issues
Driver 526.98 fails to install on certain GeForce GTX 3060 Ti graphics cards
MSI Afterburner is not prioritizing GPU temp limit over power when selected in app
Flicker may be observed when streaming using the TikTok Broadcasting Tool
[RTX 40 series] Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition may show random screen flash during gameplay
Background apps may randomly display a slight shift in color saturation
Some errors with HDR content and flickering image outputs in Watch Dogs 2 (test, benchmark test) when using a GeForce RTX 4090 (test) or GeForce RTX 4080 are currently still problematic. Graphic errors in older versions of the Minecraft Java Edition are also problematic and Dynamic Super Resolution (DSR) and Deep Learning Dynamic Super Resolution (DLDSR) issues persist.
Open Issues
Toggling HDR on and off in-game causes game stability issues when non-native resolution is used
[DirectX 12] Shadowplay recordings may appear over exposed when Use HDR is enabled from the Windows display settings
Older versions of Minecraft Java Edition show corruption on screen
[GeForce RTX 4090] Watch Dogs 2 may display flickering when staring at the sky
Monitor may briefly flicker on waking from display sleep if DSR/DLDSR is enabled
