Ubisoft has announced that The Settlers will be rebooted on Friday 17th February 2023 on PC. The game consoles will also be served later under the name The Settlers: New Alliances. The game is distributed exclusively via the Ubisoft Connect Store and the Epic Games Store.

While the Windows PC is the first, Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch as well as the cloud gaming service Amazon Luna will follow later.
The new The Settlers title has “evolved” after a great odyssey from a building strategy game to a real-time strategy game, which has caused fans of the series to riot again and again. There was already a beta test in early 2021, during which it quickly became clear that the actual development strategy game had been softened into a pseudo-RTS:

Ubisoft itself now speaks of a “real-time development strategy game” that is about discovering countries to meet factions and expand his settlement accordingly. Disappointed players see the game far removed from the original vision.
Three game modes and little that's new
In the game that is now finally planned, players have a total of three game modes to choose from Choices, two of which are based on the actual single player campaign.
Basically, players have the choice to play the solo campaign in normal or extreme mode, or to play alone or cooperatively against the AI or up to seven opponents on a total of 12 maps.

- Battles against the AI or between up to 8 players
< p class="p text-width">The game is based on Ubisoft's Snowdrop engine and according to the first screenshots and videos it is less historical and more fictional.
The Settlers: New Alliances will be released in a Standard Edition, which only includes the main game, and in a Deluxe Edition with additional digital content, digital concept art and soundtrack.
Premiere on December 1st on Twitch
The first live stream will be on December 1st December from 16:00 – 17:00 on twitch.tv/Ubisoft. He will show Skirmish Mode and will be accompanied by Creative Director Christian Hagedorn.
