“Inflation is still far too high. The high inflation erodes the purchasing power of many people and makes it more difficult for households and companies to plan their finances”, writes the Riksbank in a press release in connection with the announcement.

The Riksbank's forecast shows that the policy rate will likely be raised further at the beginning of next year to be just below 3 percent.

“Inflation trends are still difficult to assess and the Riksbank will adjust monetary policy accordingly which is needed to ensure that inflation is returned to the target within a reasonable time,” writes the bank.
