Domestic. Two obese parents passed their gluttonous eating habits onto their six-year-old daughter. Thus, they have broken down in care so seriously that the daughter must now be placed in a family home, the Court of Appeal in Gothenburg decides.

The girl has now been forcibly taken into custody according to the law with special provisions on the care of young people, LVU.
Chamber court lawyer Mattias Almqvist tells Aftonbladet that he has not been involved in a similar case where social services indicate overweight as reason for the care. Otherwise, the reasons for the decision are covered by confidentiality.
– I cannot say more than what appears in the judgment. There has been a need for long-term change work, says the lawyer to Aftonbladet.
The girl's mother is unhappy with the decision.
– The doctors have said that we give her too much food, but that is not true, she tells Aftonbladet.
The Court of Appeal disagreed in its decision and according to judge Mattias Almqvist it is because the issue in the case was a borderline case.
