Lian Li V3000 Plus: high-end tower knows three layouts for two PCs

Lian Li is changing more about the new “Plus” version of the Big Tower V3000, which has been on sale since 2017, than the small addition in the name would suggest. Three layout variants, including a dual-system option, have been added to the optimization of the cooling, which is geared to the requirements of modern hardware.

Lian Li has also made changes to the V3000 Plus on the outside. Two large mesh strips in the front, separated by a light strip, replace the side air intakes of the old model, and the side window is now attached invisibly. In addition, the manufacturer integrates the feet elegantly into the lines. Also new is that the case throws its logo on the floor.

The inner workings received a general overhaul, only the 2-chamber layout was retained. The lower area can now be used either for mounting a large radiator or an ITX computer. Coolers of the Winz system can be 80 mm high, plus a 320 mm long 3-slot GPU and an SFX-L power supply. At the same time, the upper compartment offers enough space for coolers and graphics cards of any size as well as E-ATX motherboards.

The structure of the ATX system, in turn, depends on the layout. As an alternative to the classic design, the V3000 Plus allows the mainboard to be rotated 90 degrees after purchasing a riser cable, with the connections then pointing downwards. This allows a 360mm radiator to be mounted in the rear, supporting further 480, 420 and 360mm heat exchangers under the lid, front and bottom compartment. The graphics card lies flat on the mainboard and is supposed to be better cooled, but it can only be 358 millimeters long – which is still enough even for the huge GeForce RTX 4090 (test). The housing also supports the installation of water cooling with two reservoir holders for large pumps. These can either be attached to the bottom of the tower or to the power supply panel.

Due to the dual system option and the volume of more than 120 liters the V3000 Plus has a total of 16 drives. The I/O panel is also designed for two systems with a total of four USB 3.0 ports and two additional USB Type-C ports.

The V3000 Plus should be available in stores from November 18th, a white variant will follow from January 2023. Like its predecessor, the model is in the absolute high-end range: the recommended price remains the same at around 500 US dollars.
