The latest version 2.51.0 of the popular GPU tool GPU-Z includes a feature for monitoring the problematic 12VHPWR connector on the GeForce RTX 40X0 (“Nvidia Ada Lovelace”) graphics card series. Meanwhile, the manufacturer tries to downplay the problem and blames it on the users.

GPU-Z can now monitor the 12VHPWR connector

While Nvidia blames melting or even burning 12VHPWR connectors on improperly latched 12+4-pin connectors and thus tries to ultimately shift the responsibility onto the user, the developers of CPU-Z now have a monitoring function in it Tool integrated.

As with the well-known 6/8-pin PCIe connectors, it is now possible for GPU-Z to increase the input power that is available via the new 16- Pin connector flows, read out and log. However, the actual problem is not solved by the feature.
