With the Ridge, Fractal Design presents an SFX case suitable for the living room, which can even house a 3-slot graphics card or a 280 mm radiator. It can be positioned standing or lying down using the stand.
The Ridge complements Fractal Design's SFX portfolio, which is currently only served with the Node 202 from 2015. With a volume of around 15.5 liters, the small case should fit discreetly on the desk or even in the living area.

While the body and side parts are made of steel, the front is made of aluminium. A fabric element is framed in the front, which, in addition to the optics, is primarily used for air supply. However, it can also be removed. Speaking of air supply: Here the Fractal Design Ridge offers the possibility to accommodate up to 5 fans. Two 120 or 140 mm fans can be found behind the left wall of the case. On the other hand, three 80 mm fans can be stowed in the lid. It can be set up vertically or horizontally using the mountable foot. For better assembly, all side parts can be removed using push pins.
Numerous options and limitations possible
The inside of the case accommodates Mini-ITX and, if there is no 140 mm fan, also Mini-DTX mainboards. The mainboard is installed in the lower area of the housing. The graphics card takes place in the upper third of the case using the included PCIe 4.0 riser card and can measure a maximum length of 335 mm. Due to the possible fan positions there, however, there are some limitations of the graphics card. The 3-slot design may protrude a maximum of 82 mm in height and 137 mm in depth. With mounted side fans, the possible height shrinks to 57 mm and with mounted cover fans in depth to 125 mm.

As an alternative to a long graphics card, a 240/280 mm radiator can also be installed in the upper area. When using a short graphics card (up to 175 mm), it can be operated together with a 120 mm heat exchanger. As usual for small SFX cases, the power supply and the processor cooler also come with limitations. The power supply unit in SFX or SFX-L format must not be longer than 130 mm. The maximum height of the CPU cooler is 70 mm.

The Fractal Ridge is available in black and white as of today. The manufacturer only mentions a price of 129.99 US dollars (recommended retail price, before taxes). Taking into account the current exchange rate and the applicable tax, a street price of approximately 150 euros would be conceivable.
