The first part of the assignment that has been handed over to the government covers living in asylum accommodation, participation in social introduction and measures in case of mismanagement in asylum accommodation.
In the investigation's partial report, the following is proposed, among other things:
– All asylum seekers, with the exception of unaccompanied children, must be allocated a place in state accommodation for which the Migration Agency is responsible, a so-called asylum accommodation.
– Accommodation in asylum accommodation must be a condition for daily allowance , special allowances and conditions for exemption from the requirement for a work permit.
– Control of addresses for asylum seekers who do not live in asylum accommodation. For people who do not live in asylum accommodation and do not notify the Migration Agency of their residential address, the asylum application must be regarded as withdrawn and the asylum case dismissed.
– Maintenance of asylum accommodation must be introduced as a condition for daily allowance.
– Asylum seekers must be required to participate in social introduction according to law. Completed community introduction must be a condition for exemption from the requirement for a work permit.
The investigation's final report will be presented no later than August 31, 2023.
– The asylum process needs to be faster and more efficient. The proposals that we are now receiving concern, among other things, how the entire asylum process should be transferred to asylum accommodation. The proposals will now be carefully analyzed and then see how the additional directive should be designed, including taking into account the cooperation parties' agreement on transit centers, says Migration Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) in a statement.
