Build 22000.1281 (KB5019157): The optional update for the old Windows 11 fixes bugs

Systems that are not yet running Windows 11 2022 (“22H2”) or have not yet been offered an update due to the current update lock (“Safeguard Hold”) will now receive a optional update with bug fixes. With the new cumulative update KB5019157, the system will be upgraded to build 22000.1281.

Windows 11 2022 on the sidelines for the time being

For Microsoft, the Windows 11 2022 update, which has been withdrawn for the time being due to insufficient gaming performance in some games, is not really going smoothly at the moment. After some users were prevented from updating to the latest Windows 11 in October because of their printer and the developers had to publish a guide for more performance in games, the feature update was sidelined a few days ago.

Many error corrections for Windows 11 21H2

Microsoft has provided the optional update KB5019157 (“Release Notes”) for all users who are still on the road with the initial release, Windows 11 21H2, Build 22000.x or have to be on the road anyway.

Highlights of Cumulative Update

  • It fixes some stubborn update bugs for Microsoft Store.
  • It fixes an issue that pinned Applications in the start menu are affected. The Start menu stops working when switching between pages with pinned applications.
  • This issue occurs when the language is an RTL language, called a right-to-left script.
  • Fixes an issue affecting Daylight Saving Time in the Republic of Fiji. It will cancel daylight saving time for 2022.

Microsoft published the update for the first time as Windows 11 Build 22000.1279 in the Insider program's Release Preview Channel and is now making it available to all users as the new Windows 11 Build 22000.1281 in the form of an optional update.

A total of 11 error corrections are incorporated into the operating system with the update and corrected under other problems with the Windows Lock Down Policy (“WLDP”) and the Unified Update Platform (“UUP”).

More information on the current development status of Windows 11 2022 (” 22H2″), Windows 11 (“21H2”) and the insider previews in the Dev, Beta and Release Preview Channel of the Insider program are provided by the Microsoft Flight Hub.
