Cultural news. In April 1966, teacher Iving Gordon from New York bought a red Volvo P1800. When he passed away in 2018, the car had traveled 515,000 miles – and now Volvo is buying back the long-mileer from the man's daughters.

At the age of 23, the car entered the Guinness Book of Records as the first to go one million miles with the same engine (160,000 miles).
Today the engine has been rebuilt twice but still never replaced. The odometer shows 515,000 miles.

After 56 years in the family's ownership, the company has now bought the car back from Irving Gordon's daughters.
Now the car is owned by Volvo Cars USA and belongs to the company's historical collections.
Volvo's P1800 sports car model was produced between 1961 and 1973 and was rear-wheel drive.
The P1800 model gained great popularity through the British TV series Helgonet, where Roger Moore drove a white P1800.
p>Irving Gordon's Volvo had a 100 horsepower B18 engine. In later models this was increased to 108 and 115 horsepower, and with the B20 engine with injection (1970) to 135 horsepower.
