Internews' investment in so-called oppositional journalism in Hungary is noticed by the Hungarian newspaper PestiSrácok. The newspaper interprets it as the US trying to meddle in politics in Hungary.
It is the case that Internews is mainly financed by the US government. However, it also receives money from the left-wing billionaire George Soros' foundation Open Society as well as from the Rockefeller Foundation, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Rockefeller Family & Associates.
