Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed: The wireless MMO mouse is also cheaper without modules

Razer's wireless Naga V2 Pro with an RRP of 200 euros is followed immediately by the Naga V2 HyperSpeed, which is around half the price without modules and with a battery. The procedure is reminiscent of the wired Naga X, which was launched almost two years ago as a non-modular version of the Naga Trinity.

Razer mixes four mice to a new Naga

Since that is no longer officially part of Razer's current Naga portfolio and the Naga Left-Handed, which is mirrored for left-handers, also does not have the three interchangeable side panels with 2, 6 or 12 buttons, this modularity is now reserved exclusively for the expensive Naga V2 Pro : The sparking Naga Pro (test) is also a discontinued model. The now announced Naga V2 HyperSpeed, which is permanently equipped with 12 thumb buttons, does not represent a real subset of the Pro version in terms of its features, as it offers two additional buttons to the left of the left mouse button as a unique selling point in the Naga product family – just like the one with the same name DeathAdder V2 X HyperSpeed.

It is also a hybrid in other respects. In addition to the currently best gaming mouse sensor in the form of the PixArt PAW-3950, there are not Razer's opto-mechanical primary switches on board, but only conventional mechanical buttons, whose origin the manufacturer conceals. And with the mouse wheel, there is neither the comprehensive customizability of the Naga V2 Pro, nor the usual four-way wheel of the older Naga representatives, but a compromise: the “HyperScroll” mouse wheel can be switched between tactile or free rotation. Presumably it is the same model that is also used in the Basilisk V3 (test) or Basilisk V3 Pro. The concept is primarily known from Logitech's G502 series, currently represented by the G502 X, X Lightspeed and X Plus (test).

But back to the Naga V2 HyperSpeed - the input device does not contain a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, as is known from Razer's mice with the Ultimate or Pro suffix, but the battery compartment that is usual for the HyperSpeed offshoot. With an AA alkaline battery, the runtime is around 250 hours when connected to a 2.4 GHz radio and a USB polling rate of 1,000 Hertz. With Bluetooth, the operating time increases to around 400 hours, with the latency increasing by a factor of 8, as usual. Including the aforementioned battery, the Naga V2 HyperSpeed weighs 118 grams – the little sister of the Naga V2 Pro is not lightweight either.

Priced between Naga X and Naga V2 Pro

At least the pressure on the wallet drops significantly less: With a recommended retail price of around 110 euros, the Naga V2 HyperSpeed is about half as expensive as the Naga V2 Pro, which costs around 200 euros. According to the price comparison, the wired version in the form of the Naga X costs around 50 percent less.
