Foreign. Like Denmark and Norway, Sweden intends to unilaterally declare that it does not allow nuclear weapons on its own territory, even if Sweden joins NATO. That's what foreignminister Tobias Billström (M) says today.

ÖB is of a different opinion and has recommended the government not to have any reservations in the accession process for NATO membership. Not even any reservations against nuclear weapons stationed in Sweden.
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) was quick to support ÖB's line when Finland's young Prime Minister Sanna Marin promised to have no such reservations.

But now Billström says that there will be no nuclear weapons in Sweden and that the fact that the application was submitted without reservation does not mean that such a thing will be allowed.
The process of becoming a member of NATO must first be completed, before Sweden can come up with unilateral declarations about banning the deployment of nuclear weapons here, according to Billström.
