EK-Quantum Vector² RX 7900 XTX: Water cooler for the Radeon RX 7900 XTX in two versions
The EK-Quantum Vector² RX 7900 XTX D-RGB, which is the full name of the new full-cover water block from EKWB for the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, is presented in two visually very different versions and can already be pre-ordered from the Slovenian manufacturer. Delivery is scheduled for December.
EK-Quantum Vector² can do discreet and show
The EK-Quantum Vector² RX 7900 XTX D-RGB in the acetal version is completely black and has only subtle RGB lighting, which connects the two elements of the full-cover water block.
The Plexiglas version, on the other hand, makes a much more conspicuous appearance and is therefore particularly suitable for RGB enthusiasts.
Both versions have a black anodized aluminum rear panel and a base that is CNC-milled from nickel-plated electrolytic copper.
The manufacturer describes the most relevant product characteristics of the two EK-Quantum Vector² RX 7900 XTX D-RGB measuring 307.5 × 134 × 27 mm (L × W × H) on the product page as follows:

All Vector² GPU water blocks use an 11-mm thick copper coldplate with a directly attached acetal terminal and a robust single O-ring top design.
Each Vector² water block comes with a CNC-machined black-anodized backplate.
The backplates also include captive nickel-plated mounting screws to replace the original black ones.
EK-Quantum Vector² RX 7900 XTX D-RGB water blocks and backplates are compatible with AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPUs with a reference PCB layout.
The EK Cooling Configurator will be updated regularly with AIB partner PCBs and models as new info comes in.
At the current time, the water blocks are officially released exclusively for the reference design of the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, which AMD sells itself. The manufacturer also plans to offer customized versions for a large number of the most popular Radeon RX 7900 XTX custom designs.
According to EKWB, the EK-Quantum Vector² RX 7900 XTX D-RGB cools not only the new Navi 31 graphics processor but also the GDDR6 graphics memory, the voltage converters and the voltage controller and thus all relevant components of the graphics card.
The manufacturer also points out that the fin density has increased from 0.6 mm/0.4 mm to earlier heat sinks to 0 .4 mm/0.26 mm was increased to take into account the increased power dissipation required by the new graphics core die and the six MCDs.
Availability from the beginning of December
In its press release, EKWB speaks of availability from “beginning of December 2022” and is already offering the two water coolers at prices of 239.90 euros in the Pre-sale through its online store.
The AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX and RX 7900 XT will launch on December 13th, priced at $999 and up $899 will go on sale.
