NZXT H5: Midi case with Flow and Elite offshoots

With the H5, NZXT is presenting a case that is based on the virtues of the NZXT H7, albeit in a slightly shrunken form. As with its big brother, NZXT also subdivides the H5 into two variants with a Flow and an Elite version.

The structure of the new NZXT H5 is similar to that of the H510 (test), even if the H5 is slightly larger. The case wall made of hardened glass allows a view of the inside of the case, with the power supply unit and cables disappearing behind a panel in the lower third, as is currently the case. The hardware chamber holds ATX mainboards and the graphics card can take up 365 mm, the CPU cooler 165 mm. With a connection for USB 3.1 Gen 2 (USB 3.2 Gen 2, 10 Gbit/s) Type C, 2 × USB 3.0 (USB 3.2 Gen 1, 5 Gbit/s) and HD audio, the I/O panel offers common standards .

Aside from the dimensions, the main difference between the H5 and the H510 is the lid. While the latter only offered an installation option for fans in the rear CPU area, the cover of the H5, like the H7, is almost completely perforated with air inlets, so that fans or AiO cooling can also be installed here.

Housing comes in two variants

The two variants H5 Flow and H5 Elite differ primarily in the case front. Here you can choose between a perforated housing front (Flow) and a front made of full-surface glass (Elite). There are also slight differences in the included accessories.

The Flow offshoot only comes with two 120 mm fans connected via 3-pin Connection are controlled, therefore. The Elite version offers two 140 mm fans, which also come with RGB lighting and a 4-pin connector. The H5 does not have a “basic version” with a simple, closed front, as is the case with the H7.

Available today

Both variants of the NZXT H5 are to be available in black and white from today be available. The manufacturer calls for around 110 euros as a recommended price for the Flow version.
