Economy. Nordea allegedly has such large overdue claims on the oligarch and former politician Ilija Batljan (S) that the big bank can measure out his entire ownership in the crumbling real estate empire SBB. Now Batljan counterattacks and claims that it is “blanks” who are spreading rumors about him.

Bubblan Sweden

  • Swedish growth crashes faster than expected
  • Two million Swedes provide for the rest

< p>It is Ilija Batljan himself who publishes the rumors where Nordea is said to have contacted a number of other property owners to inquire whether there is any interest in taking over the property company SBB, which Batljan owns today.

However, Nordea is said to be worried that a seizure by SBB would lead to such great damage to the Swedish loan and real estate market that they currently do not “dare” send the Kronofogden after the S-marked oligarch.

Batljan writes himself on Twitter, without actually denying or confirming the information, that it was spread by people who shorted shares in SBB.

“The blanks are doing their utmost to try to save themselves by spreading rumors to journalists about my private economy. I have food for the day and a roof over my head which I didn't have during the war, so I'm doing well now,” he writes on Twitter and continues:

“Please note this is about my personal finances, but nothing is sacred in this war with the aim of making money at the expense of SBB's 300,000 shareholders”.

SBB's stock has fallen by over 30 percent since last summer, but the market believes there are further declines to wait. The shorting continues to increase in the SBB share and is now at the highest levels since the beginning of the summer, according to statistics from Holdings published by Affärsvärlden.
