In addition to the two new smartphones Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and the Pixel Watch, after the first announcement of the Google I/O in May this year, Google also revealed news about the Pixel Tablet, which continues to be scheduled for a launch in 2023 without Google narrowing it down any further.

The Google tablet, which uses the Android operating system, will also use the Tensor G2 as a processor. In addition, we have already worked a lot with developers in recent months to optimize the apps for use on a tablet. With the Pixel Tablet, however, Google wants to combine experience from several areas, especially from the Smart Home and Pixel areas.

With charging dock with loudspeakers for the smart display
Because there will be a charging dock for the Pixel Tablet that looks like the basis of the Nest Hubs (test), i.e. the company’s smart displays. The pixel tablet can dock magnetically to this base and is then not only charged, but also connects to the speakers in the dock in order to be able to play music or video sound over it. The pixel tablet is thus transformed into a smart display at home, which also reacts to calls via the Google Assistant and which can be used to control the smart home with the newly designed home app, but can, whenever desired, simply be removed from the charging station and be used as a normal tablet – freshly charged.
According to Google, the magnetic holder be designed in such a way that the tablet is held securely on the speaker docking station, but can also be easily removed without having to hold the base itself. The video shows four contacts on the dock that connect to a corresponding connector on the back of the tablet.

The tablet is made from fully recycled aluminium, which is coated with a layer of ceramic to give it a porcelain-like finish.
