Finally, we have the picture of the trend of the Italian car market last month. Therefore, the month of September 2022 is & egrave; closed with a growth of 5.4% compared to the same period of 2021. Therefore, the month of September confirms the recovery started in August (+ 9.9%).

Overall, in the last month 110,976 cars were registered against 105,318 units September 2021. However, although September was also a positive month for the Italian car market, it is not enough to recover the losses accumulated during 2022. Therefore, in the first 9 months of the year 976,055 units were registered. with a decrease of 16.3% on 2021 (about 190 thousand cars less).

UNRAE, speaking of the recent publication in the Official Gazette of the corrections to the incentive structure that also allow companies & agrave; of rental to access financial contributions, highlights that an extremely restrictive interpretation of the provision seems to emerge, according to which the funds intended for rental would be none other than those previously allocated for car sharing, and to date largely unused, which however ; amount to only 20 million euros, just 5% of the total for a channel that normally absorbs 20% of the volumes of cars benefiting from the incentives.

In this regard, Michele Crisci , UNRAE President, commented:

This interpretation greatly undermines the scope of the provision and does not at all correspond to the expectations of the sector, leaving the problem of the full use of the funds completely unsolved. I want to hope that at the most & # 768; soon an effective solution can be found, also in an interpretative way, which allows a & rsquo; wide and complete operability & # 768; to the sector, being able to benefit from the amount allocated to promote the spread of low-emission vehicles.

The sharp decline in the share of auto plug-ins fell to 4% in September (the second lowest of the year) and the flattening of that of pure electric at 4.5% (halving almost 8% in September 2021), & egrave; a clear indication of the definitive exhaustion of the 2021 incentive effect and the fact that the 2022 incentives are not yet fully operational after 3-4 months from the activation of the platform.
