Hyundai IONIQ 6, great efficiency and range up to 614 km

At the market debut of the Hyundai IONIQ 6 that we recently got to see closely, is missing less and less. The Korean carmaker has now communicated all the data on the efficiency of its new car , highlighting the low consumption and autonomy for each individual variant in which it will be; proposal. Distance and consumption, of course, according to the WLTP cycle.

Going into the details, the Korean manufacturer highlights the great efficiency of its new IONIQ 6 which in the model with single electric motor, 53 kWh battery and 18-inch wheels, has consumption of just 13.9 kWh per 100 km (WLTP ) . Once on the market, it will be; one of the most electric cars efficient.

The autonomy, depending on the model, will vary; between 429 and 614 km (previously only up to 610 km was mentioned).

  • Hyundai IONIQ 6 Long Range (77.4 kWh), single engine and 18-inch wheels: 614 km of autonomy and consumption of 14.3 kWh/100 km
  • Hyundai IONIQ 6 Long Range (77.4 kWh), single engine and 20-inch wheels: 545 km of autonomy and consumption of 16 kWh/100 km
  • Hyundai IONIQ 6 Long Range (77.4 kWh), dual engine and 18-inch wheels: 583 km of autonomy and consumption of 16.1 kWh/100 km
  • Hyundai IONIQ 6 Long Range (77.4 kWh), double single and 20-inch wheels: 519 km of autonomy and consumption of 16, 9 kWh/100 km
  • Hyundai IONIQ 6 Standard (53 kWh), single engine and 18-inch wheels: 429 km of autonomy and consumption of 13.9 kWh/100 km


AERODYNAMIC EFFICIENCY

To achieve these results in terms of consumption, Hyundai has worked hard on several aspects. In particular, & egrave; managed to render very efficient aerodynamics . As we know, in fact, the IONIQ 6 can & ograve; count on a Cx equal to 0.21 , one of the most; bass in the category. As we told when we took a close look at the new IONIQ 6, Hyundai has adopted various measures to optimize aerodynamics such as the two spoilers, one upper and one integrated in the tail line that take care of cleaning the flows coming from the roof of the car and reduce the vortexes coming from the sides.

In front, however, we find two & ldquo; palettes & rdquo; black on the sides of the bumper that convey the air towards the wheel compartment and at the same time clean the air masses which will then wrap around the sides. The Hyundai Group's E-GMP platform , expressly designed for electric cars, also contributes to improving the overall efficiency of the car.


Platform that also supports 800V architecture for high power charging. Byung Hoon Min , Head of Hyundai's Total Vehicle Performance Development Center, commented:

We went to great lengths to design the best car. efficient in the electric vehicle segment. Our focus on improving aerodynamics has helped build one of the vehicles with the longest range long, which will reduce customer autonomy anxiety and help to grow the segment.

The prices of the IONIQ 6 for the Italian market have not yet been disclosed. However, according to what & egrave; stated, they shouldn't be too different from those of the IONIQ 5.
