CD Projekt with 7 new games: Cyberpunk 2077 Orion and a three-part Witcher saga

The Polish development studio CD Projekt has announced the development of seven new games. In addition to Cyberpunk 2077 (“Orion”), the next part of the dark and dystopian Cyberpunk franchise, and a completely new three-part Witcher saga, two more witcher games and a new IP are to be released.

New games from the universes of Cyberpunk and Witcher

As part of the CD Projekt Group Strategy Update, the Warsaw-based company has commented on its strategy and plans for the future, including a total of five new games from the world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (test), which are codenamed “Polaris”, ” Canis Majoris” and “Sirius” are being developed, as well as a successor to Cyberpunk 2077 (test).

The developers have already revealed some details about the new games and their basic orientation.

However, CD Projekt did not provide any new information about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the next-gen edition, which was already announced in 2020 and should be released by the end of the year. The studio was clearly looking ahead.

Information on the externally developed Witcher game, which for the first time will not come directly from CD Projekt, will follow soon. “This is the first product of its kind to be developed outside of the [CD Projekt] group. But that doesn't mean that it will lag behind our own productions in terms of quality,” says CD Projekt in the approximately 15-minute video.

From a technological point of view, the game will also be different from the new saga based on Unreal Engine 5 and using the toolset developed for Polaris. “Expect additional announcements soon”, it concludes.
