In addition to a new theme for the photo contest, the beginning of October also brings new features to the screenshot contest. With a new look and a points system, the competition is now being held for a longer period of time.

6 months, 6 topics and many points

As previously announced, the screenshot contest will start with a new look after a short summer break. The period of the competition is set at 6 months, with a new and previously defined topic being dealt with every month.

The following monthly themes have been nominated for the competition:

  1. October: “Nature spectacle”
  2. November: ” In the middle of the night”
  3. December: “Off the beaten track”
  4. January: “Botch in construction”
  5. February: “That's not a knife “
  6. March: “Funny Snapshots”

Each month, the first five podium places receive points that are added up at the end of the “6-month challenge” and thus select the overall winner. As a small incentive, the overall winner can also look forward to a small surprise, which will be announced at a later date. Submissions for the first topic “Nature spectacle” can be sent in until October 20, 2022, before the winner is then determined by voting as usual.

Tough engineering

Winner of the month for September's Cell Phone Snapshot is community member Agent 1. His picture was taken with a Google Pixel 6 (test) and was taken in a lava cave on Lanzarote. At the same time, he chose “railway bridge” as a new theme. As with the screenshot competition, corresponding recordings can still be submitted until October 20, 2022.

Speaking of cell phone snapshots

Already in Spring examined ComputerBase cell phone snapshots and, together with the community, carried out a blind test in which the best shot had to be chosen from 16 motifs and 7 different smartphones. The Google Pixel 6 Pro won the race.
