Microsoft has fixed issues with the Media Creation Tool that could previously prevent updating to Windows 11 2022 Update. The developers have integrated the latest cumulative update directly into the MCT, so that non-English installations can also be completed.

Microsoft integrates cumulative update into the MCT

The new cumulative update KB5019311, which raises the operating system to the final build 22621.525, fixes problems with various setup files that caused the creation of installation media and updates via the Media Creation Tool for Windows 11 to fail whenever as language was not explicitly selected as English. The update is now available both as a standalone update and integrated into the MCT.

In addition to the error correction, the cumulative update also contains the current Windows 11 Servicing Stack Update (SSU) in the updated version 22621.378.

Improvements

  • This non-security update includes quality improvements. Key changes include:
    • Addresses localization issues for some setup files. These issues might stop you from creating installation media for non-English languages.
  • If you installed earlier updates, only the new updates contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.
Windows 11 servicing stack update – 22621.378

  • This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing stack updates (SSU) ensure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates.
