Waters' manager has made the decision to cancel the concert just before Krakow's city council was to vote on a proposal that would make Waters “persona non grata” in the city, according to Fox News.

In the proposal included that the city would express an official “indignation” over Waters' views on Russia's war in Ukraine, writes Fox News. During the war, the Pink Floyd founder has been highly critical of NATO and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

In an open letter to Zelenskyi's wife Olena Zelenska earlier this month, Waters wrote that “extreme nationalists” in Ukraine “have dragged the country into this disastrous war”. The musician, who is himself British, also criticized the West for its arms deliveries to Ukraine.
